Visitor Services Associate

As a team member of Heritage Hill State Historical Park, you will help build a positive working environment as well as inspire, transform and build our community through exceptional live experiences. The Visitor Services Associate is responsible for the daily functions of the front desk and the gift shop.  This includes but is not limited to:  meeting and greeting park visitors, having knowledge of all the park happenings, providing a brief park orientation and direction for park visitors, completing daily cash transactions, answering incoming telephone calls, distributing mail, cleaning, stocking, database management, and volunteer coordination and social media management. This position requires a high level of critical thinking and the ability to work both independently and part as a team.

Private Events:

Event Bartender

Under the general supervision of the Park’s Private Events Coordinator, Private Events Bartender, provides principle support and assures seamless functioning of the Private Events Department.

 Education and Interpretation: 

Visitor Experience Enhancement Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The Visitor Experience Enhancement Intern(s) will evaluate Heritage Hill for ways to make visitors’ experiences more enjoyable. This will include, but not be limited to, evaluating buildings to determine their accessibility to visitors without gates, determine whether certain artifacts should or can be replaced with reproduction items so they can be stored safely, identify parts of buildings and the park as a whole that can become more interactive. Visitor Experience Enhancement Intern(s) will also conduct research on museum displays, recommend displays for various areas of the park, including the content on the displays (design) and companies to order from. This is an unpaid internship, and there are two positions available. 

Program Coordinator Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator Intern will assist with all aspects of coordinating school and public programs. This intern will learn the logistics behind scheduling programs at a historic site, including scheduling times and visits, coordinating supplies for programs, and assisting in the revision and development of old and new programs. This is an unpaid internship, and there is one position available. 

Electronic Tour Development Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The Electronic Tour Development Intern will assist the park in the development of tours visitors can use on their smartphones when historic interpreters are absent from the park. The intern will learn about the history of Heritage Hill’s buildings and develop tours with a variety of themes. This intern will incorporate photos, videos, and links to web pages in the tour. This is an unpaid internship, and there is one position available.

Historical Interpreter- Discovery Days

JOB SUMMARY 

The Discovery Days Historical Interpreter will communicate the regional history of Green Bay, northeast Wisconsin, and to some extent, broader areas of history to diverse school-age audiences using various techniques, including hands-on activities.  The Discovery Days Historical Interpreter will improve their own teaching approaches and strategies, knowledge of history, and communication skills through training, research, and practice.  The Discovery Days Historical Interpreter contributes to the overall mission and vision of Heritage Hill State Historical Park.
