History Treasure Tour

Celebrate Heritage's Hill's 40th anniversary season by taking an abbridged tram tour around the Park as part of the Brown County Historical Society's - History Treasure Tour. After you are done visiting us, stop by the many other local attractions featured. 

Admission: Free!

Opening Weekend 

Sat & Sun, May 26-27
10 - 4:30 pm

Introduce yourself (or re-introduce yourself) to the Park with our opening weekend for the 40th Anniversary of the dedication of the park.  The buildings will be gated for you to get a sneak peak and wet your appetite for the season to come

Admission: $5 per person 

Members, free! 

A Soldier’s Remembrance

Mon May 28 
10 - 4:30 pm

A solemn remembrance of soldiers who fought and died for their country. A ceremony will be held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with both local veteran groups and our own Fort Howard Guard.

Scheulde for the Serivce: 

  • Opening Prayer
  • Singing of our National Anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner 
  • Reading of General Logan’s Memorial Day Order by American Legion Post 11 Sullivan Wallen Green Bay
  • Wreath Presentation on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of Camp Smith
  • Rifle Salute by American Legion Post 11 Sullivan Wallen Green Bay
  • Taps by Erin Comer
  • Singing of God Bless America

Then, activites throughout the day, such as: 

  • Display of historic flags
  • Make Patriotic crafts!
  • Experience an 1836 school lesson with our school marm.
  • Make your own patriotic print!
  • Raising of the Colors
  • Musket firing demonstration
  • and more! 

$5/person ($1 of every admission will go towards a cause supporting local veterans, that American Legion Post 11 will choose)

 Civil War Reenactment

Experience the life of a soldier in the Civil War through the reenacted Battles of Brawner’s Farm and South Mountain (Saturday) and Antietam (Sunday). This event will have a special focus on medical treatment with an opportunity for visitors to assist the surgeons trying to heal wounded soldiers using medical methods practiced in a field hospital (Saturday morning & Sunday afternoon). An interactive toy soldier display will provide a hands-on perspective. Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will host displays on the Grand Army of the Republic, Civil War memorabilia, and genealogical information about ancestors who fought in the Civil War.   • Two (2) battles of Antietam

Both Days:

  • Field Hospital Scenarios after each battle - assist the medical professionals of the era in helping heal the post battle casualties 
  • An interactive toy soldier display
  • Geneology informaion lead by the Sons of the Union Veterans - See if your ancestors fought in the Civil War! 
  • Presentation by the Wisconsin Veteran's Museum about the Iron Brigade. 
  • Performances by the Regimental band of Wisconsin. 
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Print Shop Cypher Game
