Civil War Encampment

Since this year’s Civil War event will take place over Father’s Day weekend, the theme will be “Fathers, Sons, and Civil War.” With a shift in the event’s focus to father-son relationships and visitor engagement, this event will look a little different than in past years. Rather than large battles, skirmishes and other activities with a larger focus on visitor interaction will take place throughout the day. The kick off will take place on the Fort Howard parade ground with a flag raising ceremony, mimicking the way Green Bay residents reacted to hearing of the outbreak of the war.
