Life on a Belgian Farm

Recommended for grades 2-3

Visit our Belgian Farm and learn how early 20th century immigrants adjusted to farming in America. Students will learn about immigration, help with farm chores, meet the animals, make & taste butter, and do much more in this participatory experience.

Encounter Fort Howard

Recommended for grades 3-5

Experience life at a Wisconsin military outpost: Fort Howard in 1836! Students will examine the soldiers’ regimented days, explore what medicine on the 1830s frontier looked like, practice marching, and participate in an 1830s school lesson.

Explore the Fur Trade

Relive the thrill of life in early Wisconsin, when Native Americans, French, and British interacted during the fur trade. Students will make sparks with flint and steel, listen to native stories, and portage a canoe (weather and time permitting).
