SOLD OUT - 18th Century Mitten Making Workshop @ Heritage Hill State Historical Park
Join amateur historian and aspiring historic tailor Jay Oestreich as you cut out and hand sew a pair of mittens suitable to Heritage Hill’s 18th century La Baye area of the park. A variety of sizes will be available to make, along with written instructions and all needed construction materials. Reference citations will be available for take home as further individual research as well.
Jay Oestreich operates The Endeavor Project on Facebook, a page dedicated to supporting the reenactor community in the upper mid-west as a conduit for information rooted in research using period documentation and extant examples from the period to drive one’s impression. As a second-generation reenactor, he’s gone down the wrong paths already, let his experience help you along your way.
