Field Trip Toolkit

Preparing for a field trip is hard work! Let us help by offering you the below support materials in our Teacher Toolkit. Each document downloads as a PDF.

Dear Chaperone Letter

Give your chaperones information on what to expect during a field trip by printing and sending this letter home in advance.

Field Trip Map & Guidelines

Does everyone know where they’re going? Divide your students up into groups of 15-20 students each with at least 1 adult per group before arrival and give each adult this map. With it they will know what order to visit each of the 4 historical areas of the park in, where and when their lunch is, and what time to be back at the bus!

Rules and Guidelines

In order to have a safe and fun trip, all students, teachers, and chaperones must follow certain rules and guidelines. Please take the time to review these in advance with all field trip participants.

Student Scavenger Hunt

Need help keeping your students focused during their visit? Print off and bring along this simple scavenger hunt that directs students to some of the most important, interesting, and fun information in each of the park’s 4 historical areas!

Bus Drop-Off & Parking

Help your bus driver feel prepared for their role in your field trip by sharing this map on where to drop-off students and where to park.

Additional Classroom Resources – lesson plans for before or after your visit. Lessons are targeted to students in grades 3-5 and aligned with the Wisconsin Standards for Social Studies.
