Ceramics Workshop

Each class is 2.5 hours of hands-on instruction and assistance. Each person in the class will create a piece of varying size and personalized decoration.  Karen will take all items to be dried, fired and then will be returned to Heritage Hill in about a month’s time. August 2 – Flower Bowls 

10 am – 12:30 pm | Capacity 12

Learn how to create, through the art of hand built pottery, a bowl shaped in a flower that will be glazed the same day you build it!  Karen Eckberg, owner of Owl Arts, will facilitate the workshop and teach you the techniques you need to make your own bowl.

August 9 – Gnomes

September 6 – Ghost Pumpkins

10 am – 1 pm | Capacity 12

Learn how to create, through the art of hand built pottery, a fall-themed piece that will be glazed the same day you build it!  Karen Eckberg, owner of Owl Arts, will facilitate the workshop and teach you the techniques you need to make your own pumpkin.  Those techniques can be used to create any fall-themed piece!


About the instructor: Karen Eckberg is a ceramicist in Northeastern Wisconsin who makes functional ware and sculptural pieces. She enjoys creating small batches of items and experimenting with mixed media like metals and floss. Her shop, Owl Arts, began by doing some commission work, including dinnerware sets and custom items. Karen works with nonprofits to create unique handmade pieces for fundraisers and teaches ceramics and art to many populations in Northeast Wisconsin, including students through the YMCA and pop-up workshops for adults in Green Bay and Port Washington.
