Outreach Programs

Outreach Programs offer a 1-hour immersive experience from one of our highly skilled costumed interpreters at your location.  Outreach programs are also great for birthday parties, scouts, and community events. Virtual options available.

Outreach Programs

An Immigrant’s Journey

Recommended for grades 1-5

Hear the struggles of the long journey from Germany to America in the mid-19th century. A costumed presenter brings an immigrant trunk filled with objects and documents.

A Pilgrim’s Voyage

Recommended for grades 3-5

Through story, critical thinking and hands-on experiences, students learn about the hardships of settlement at Plymouth in the 17th century. Students may try on period clothing and sample Pilgrim bread.

A Fur Trader’s Tale

Recommended for grades 3-5

Discover the difficult life of a voyageur as a costumed presenter brings his pack with beaver pelts, metal trade items, and more.

Civil War Soldier

Recommended grades 3-5

Explore items from a soldier’s knapsack, and hear about the experiences of a Civil War soldier from our costumed presenter.

Fort Howard Outreach

Recommended grades 3-8

Learn what life was like at Fort Howard for a soldier, school teacher, and doctor. Experience a school lesson and make medicine.

Playthings from the Past: Indoor

Recommended grades K-6

From Jacob’s Ladders to Cup and Ball, learn about some favorite playthings from the past.  Students will try their hand at parlor games as well as make a toy to take home.

Playthings from the Past: Outdoor

Recommended grades K-6

Students will play some outside games that they may be familiar with, and others that might be new to them! They will use their motor skills to toss a grace and beat their opponent in Egg and Spoon Race, and their math skills in a game of Bowl Toss. While these games are great to play outside, they can also be played in a gymnasium if there is bad weather!

Outreach Programs are offered November – April.


$120 for schools in Brown County; $160 for schools in a one-hour radius per program. Contact us for Virtual Program Pricing. 

Chaperone Policy

We require at least one teacher per class.


35 students/program. If you have more than 35 students who want to attend the same program, we can send another costumed presenter for an additional $70.
